Gatlinburg, Tennessee has no shortage of hotels, but the new Margaritaville Resort stands out as a vacation oasis that’s perfect for families of any size! With it’s gorgeous mountain views, amazing restaurants and live entertainment, it’s easy to see why Gatlinburg has become such a popular vacation destination! Where to stay in Gatlinburg: Margaritaville Resort Review will hopefully make your road trip planning easier!
We recently visited for the first time and were thrilled to be invited as guests of the Margaritaville Resort. Once we arrived, we realized it was even more impressive than we had been expecting! You feel like you’re stepping into a little beach oasis right in the middle of the town.
Common Spaces and Check-In
When we pulled up in front of the Margaritaville Resort, we were greeted by a valet who explained that we could either use valet parking ($12/day) or we could self-park behind the hotel for free. We chose to park for free, but the daily parking rate is very reasonable compared to many resorts we’ve stayed at!
As soon as we entered the lobby, it was hard to force ourselves to walk to the check-in desk, because all we wanted to do was sit on these swings!
The entire lobby is so inviting and the perfect place for families to relax! There’s so much to look at and my mind was racing with decorating ideas that I could bring back to my own home.
But we did eventually make our way to the check-in desk where we were greeted so warmly that I ended up chatting with them for way too long! They just were full of information about Gatlinburg, and I loved hearing about all the amenities that the resort offers.
After you’re all checked into your room, be sure to head back down to the 1st floor so you can explore even more! Grab a margarita (it’s 5 o’clock somewhere!) and get your vacation started out on the back patio! Can’t you just picture yourself curled up here with a drink!
Guest Rooms
I adored the branding that was evident throughout the entire resort. The color scheme and the beach theme were on-point even in the hallways! It just made you feel so calm and relaxed.
The teal, louvered doors made you feel like you were entering a beach house and the “License to Chill” privacy note was the perfect, quirky touch!
But when you opened the door… guys, this was the best part! A full living room with a dining area and kitchenette!
There is just something about a living room space in a hotel room that makes the entire vacation more enjoyable! You feel like you can spread out and relax before crawling into bed at the end of a busy sightseeing day.
And while many resorts and hotels we stay at do now have mini fridges, it is very rare for us to find a microwave in our room. It’s always baffling to me, because if we want a fridge to bring leftovers back to… then it stands to reason that we need a microwave to heat them up in later. I think I might have let out a squeal when I saw that Margaritaville thought to include microwaves in the guest rooms!
Just past the living room was the bathroom that I’m pretty sure was bigger than my kids’ bedrooms at home! It had a full-size, soaking tub and an over-sized shower.
Again, it’s the little things that can make your visit more enjoyable, and Margaritaville seems to have thought of them all. From a shower door that swings both ways to placing the water nozzle on the closest wall so you don’t get wet turning the shower on… we were definitely taking notes on how we’d like to recreate the same spa-like bathroom in our own home!
And speaking of spa, while there is a spa on-site that I highly encourage you to take advantage of, you can also enjoy some of the spa products in your resort room!
You know the place you’re staying pays great attention to detail when even the toilet paper is branded!
Beyond the bathroom is the private bedroom with 2 queen beds. This set-up was perfect for our family of 4 because one teen could have a bed to sleep while the other used the sofa bed. It makes for a much more enjoyable vacation when they can have their own sleeping spaces!
I, on the other hand, was so taken by all the design elements in the space. It was all themed so perfectly that it was hard not to find yourself in vacation-mode.
