An easy guide to the best photo spots in Hershey as well as the most Instagrammable locations in Hersheypark! Follow these tips so you won’t miss any prime photography sites while visiting Hersheypark!

I grew up living about 5 minutes away from Hershey, so for me, some of the sites and attractions are so commonplace that I often have to stop and remind myself of how cool they really are! We used to smile at the tourists that would stop and take pictures of the Hershey Chocolate bushes outside the original factory or the streetlights that are shaped like Hershey Kisses.
But lately I’ve been trying to stay more conscious of just how beautiful our little town is! And apparently a lot of people on Instagram agree with me because the hashtag #Hersheypark has well over 200K+ results! The hashtag #HersheyparkHappy is closing in on an impressive 50K results.
That’s a lot of people snapping pictures while they’re visiting Hersheypark! So I put together some of the most Instagrammable and photogenic locations that you can use as a guide for your next visit
1. Ride Height Character Guides
Before you even get to the entrance to Hersheypark, you’ll see the ride height characters tucked in a little alcove off to your right. It’s the first peek at these full-size characters and a great chance for a photo!
Not only is your backdrop gorgeous, but the characters themselves are so colorful that they make the whole photo pop. It’s also a great chance to see how your kids have grown from one summer to the next. It’s a big milestone when they get to move up to the next height character!
2. Wall Murals in Hersheypark
As soon as you go through the Main Gate and have entered Hersheypark, you’ll see some shops off to your right. On the side of one of those first shops are two wall murals. I’m a sucker for stopping at every wall mural I see when I travel, and these two are no exception.
Milton Hershey and his wife, Kitty, are my heroes. If you don’t know there stories, I beg you to look them up. They are fascinating and the legacy they left is amazing. But for now, swing by and get a selfie with these two! It’s the least you can do before you spend the day enjoying the Park they built!
And on the same wall is a fun, colorful mural for the kids! It gives you a not-so-subtle reminder to use #HersheyparkHappy when you’re sharing your photos so we can all join in on your fun!
3. Milton Hershey Statue and Fountain
If you walk a little farther into the Park, you’ll come to the life-size Milton Hershey Statue and fountain. All guests have to follow this path into Hersheypark so you literally can’t miss it. There will probably also be a little bit of a wait to snap a photo because it’s one of the most popular spots!
If you don’t feel like waiting, though, just catch it on your way out later that night. The fountain is lit up, you can see the lights from the Carousel behind it and it’s just gorgeous!
4. Hersheypark Carousel
You can see in the above photo, that you just have to walk a little bit further and you’ll bump right into the Hersheypark Carousel. The Carousel was built in 1919 by the Philadelphia Toboggan Co. and is just stunning in how much detail each individual horse has.
I suggest getting a picture standing in front of the Carousel and then riding it so you can get some up-close pictures with the horses! Don’t forget to look up before the ride starts to see the paintings!
5. Hersheypark Costume Characters
As you’re walking around the Park, be sure to be on the lookout for the Costume Characters. There are a number of spots you can find them, but we also bump into them around the Carousel/Milton Statue and farther into the Park between the Music Box Theatre and the Pirate Ship.
6. Boardwalk at Hersheypark
If you head to the left towards the back of the Park, you’ll eventually reach the Boardwalk at Hersheypark. This statue will not only let you know that you’ve arrived at the waterpark, but it’s also a great photo opp! The bright colors make anyone look great in photos!
7. Hershey Street Signs
If you continue past the Boardwalk and up a slight hill, you’ll see Chickie and Pete’s to your left. Look just slightly to your right and you’ll see a little flower garden with these street signs. Cocoa Avenue and Chocolate Avenue are two of our most popular street names in town, and I love that Hersheypark has this replica for photo opps.
Hop on their Singin’ in the Rain style and grab a cute picture!
8. ZooAmerica in Hersheypark
One of our favorite ways to cool off on a hot day at Hersheypark, is to head to ZooAmerica for an hour or two. Right as you approach ZooAmerica, you’ll know you’re there by the gorgeous deer statue!
ZooAmerica Wildlife Park features animals that are native to North America, so what could be more fitting than grabbing a selfie with a deer?
9. Bear Exhibit At ZooAmerica
By far my favorite exhibit at ZooAmerica is the bear exhibit. There is a viewing area where you can watch them play and sometimes they’ll come right up to the glass. The exhibit also features a life-size poster to see how you measure up to the different species of bears. Have your camera ready and be sure to use #ZooAmerica in addition to #HersheyparkHappy for this one!
10. Roller Coaster Selfie
I’m not a roller coaster girl, but I’m still down for grabbing a selfie with one… with my feet planted firmly on the ground! As you’re heading out of the Park, take the new SkyRush path rather than walking out of the main entrance. To get to the path, you need to be down in Comet Hollow. Go to the back corner where Sky Rush is located and just start following it around to the left.
You’ll find yourself in a gorgeous walkway that’s shaded, quiet and has a great view of SkyRush. It feels like it’s going right over you. It’s such a photogenic roller coaster with the yellow track and blue support beams. Add to that that it’s over the water, and you have yourself the perfect spot for a roller coaster selfie!
11. Chocolate World and Trolley
Right outside of Hersheypark is Chocolate World. If you time it right, you can get a photo of the Hershey Trolley parked right beside the building. It’s a cool shot that happens a few times a day!
12. Milton Hershey Mural In Chocolate World
If you have time, pop into Chocolate World to see my favorite mural of Milton Hershey. It’s tucked back into the alcove where you get on the ride and it takes up the entire wall! I’ll have to go back sometime with my daughter so I can get her in the picture and you can see just how large this mural really is! That little black thing to the right of his face is actually the exit sign to give you some idea of proportion.
13. Hersheypark Billboard
One of my favorite spots to stop for a picture is the Hersheypark Billboard at the intersection of Rt. 743 (Fishburn Rd.) and Homestead Rd. It’s only about a 5-10 minute drive from Hersheypark and right on the other side of the Milton Hershey School property.
It’s a great spot for photos, because there’s a clearly defined pull-off area and the billboard sits very low to the ground. During the summer, you’ll see lots of people pulled over with their cameras out!
