Universal’s Endless Summer Resort- Surfside Inn and Suites just opened in summer 2020, and is the answer to everyone looking for an affordable Universal vacation for their family! Billed as Universal Orlando’s first Value resort, it offers family suites, standard rooms and more all at an affordable price point!

I’m not sure how to explain to you just how thrilled I am that Universal Orlando Resort now has an option available for families that need a lower cost option! It feels like a total game changer for families who otherwise wouldn’t be able to expose their families to the magic that is Universal Studios Florida.

And one of my favorite parts is that it doesn’t feel like a value resort. It still feels like a luxurious, amenity-filled stay where the resort itself is a key part of your vacation.

Universal’s Endless Summer Resort

Universal’s Endless Summer Resort is actually part of a larger hotel complex that includes Surfside Inn and Suites which opened summer 2020 (and is where we stayed). In March 2020, Dockside Inn and Suites will open on an adjoining property.

Both are Value resorts and both will fall under the larger Endless Summer Resort umbrella. Once both properties are open, guests will have access to both resorts’ amenities: additional pools, Starbucks and more.

Universal Orlando Resort invited us to visit the new Surfside Inn and Suites as their guest, and we were more than happy to oblige! With 2 teens (a boy and a girl), we’re always on the lookout for travel accommodations that give us plenty of space to spread out while still being affordable.

And if we can find a hotel room that has 3 beds, our family is pretty much sold. Letting a 16 and 17 year old have their own beds is the 1st step to making sure your vacation goes smoothly (parents of teens everywhere are cheering)!

Surfside Inn and Suites Rooms and Family Suites

When we arrived at Surfside Inn and Suites, I had probably done the least amount of research I had ever done before leaving for vacation. The dates snuck up on me and even as we were checking in, I had no idea what kind of room we had or even a vague idea of what they would look like.

I opened that door and pretty much squealed!

Not only were they gorgeous, but they were SO spacious! This was so shocking to me for such a low price point!

We had the 2 bedroom family suite which starts as low as $131/night! That’s a crazy price for a suite that includes:

  • one bedroom with 2 queen beds
  • separate bedroom with queen bed
  • kitchenette with table
  • bathroom with separate vanity area (so the teens can get ready without hogging the bathroom!)

The rooms (and honestly the whole resort) have a relaxed, beachy vibe that carries through from the decor to the color scheme.

The branding is so on-point and adds to the whole vacation ambiance rather than it just being another generic hotel room.

And the view! You guys know I love a room with a good view and this one was a winner. I spent lots of time staring out these windows at the surfboard pool.

Universal’s Endless Summer Resort Amenities

Once you leave the rooms (which my daughter had trouble doing), there’s plenty to keep you busy right on-site.

We spent most of our time at the surfboard-shaped pool both before we headed into the theme parks and after we returned in the evening.

There’s a fun poolside bar beside it, the Sand Bar…

or you can head inside to the Beach Break Cafe! Not only are the rooms here affordable, but so is the food. You can grab breakfast, lunch or dinner at the Beach Break Cafe and the best part is that nothing on the menu is over $12!

The lobby also has a Starbucks for all you coffee lovers!

If you’re one of those people who hits the gym on vacation (I’m currently giving the side eye to my son…), Surfside Inn and Suites has one of the nicest resort gym facilities I’ve ever seen. Almost made me want to hop on a treadmill!

There’s also a game room at the resort that would be the perfect activity for a rainy day.

Universal Orlando Resort Benefits

Even with The Endless Summer Resort being a Value resort, there are still a number of exclusive benefits available to guests who stay here.

  • Complimentary transportation to Universal Studios Florida, Universal’s Islands of Adventure, Universal CityWalk and Universal’s Volcano Bay. The shuttle picks you up right out side the resort and takes about 5-10 minutes to arrive at the parks.
  • Early Admission to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and Universal’s Volcano Bay. By staying at The Endless Summer Resort and purchasing your theme park admission, you can enter the parks 1 hour before the regular opening time.
  • Resort-wide charging privileges with your room key.
  • Purchases made in the theme parks can be delivered directly to your room so you don’t need to carry them all day. We took advantage of this perk and it makes it so much nicer!
